The CVC New Crest

Good evening CVC. It’s been an interesting last few days on the Patch front! Last Friday Dean received a final decision from Ottawa regarding authorization to use the CAF Insignia on our group Patch. It only took the just over 3 months, but the answer was no! It came down to this;
“My apologies for the delay.
Unfortunately your request to use the central badge of the CAF cannot be supported at this time. Currently use of CAF badges by veterans organizations is not supported by the Department.”
So, it was back to the drawing board for me and with a few hours of online collaboration with Dean and Dan, we came up with this new crest for our patch. We wanted to capture a little history, a tribute to Veterans and have a distinctly Canadian appearance. We wanted to keep the design simple and uncluttered to aid in rapid production! So, without further ado, this is it and they’re being worked on as we speak!







Update for our Patches! Well CVC Ladies and Gentlemen, I now have our patches in my possession! For those that have already paid me for theirs, contact me (Duane Boosamra) and we’ll make arrangements to get your to you! For our NOVA SCOTIA Brothers and Sisters, your are being sent to your VP David Harbour tomorrow. You’ll have 2 of 3 pieces until I get and send your NOVA SCOTIA Banners as soon as I get them in a week or so.
PATCH UPDATE: Spent good part of today with our graphics guy. He’s been trying in vein to subcontract production of our patches to another embroidery company because he didn’t have some of the equipment required. Well, y’all know it’s been a minute since we started this venture and it hasn’t been easy! He’s tried 3 different companies so far and we’ve had NO luck with any! Well after my time with our guy today, he said enough of this crap! He bought the equipment he needed and is going to make them himself now!
